Managing Director, CHL Group

Since its inception, Steve Bevington has been the Managing Director of Community Housing Ltd (CHL) Group , which focuses on developing, designing, constructing, and managing affordable housing options.

Steve has been actively involved in affordable and community housing for over 30 years. He has contributed to the development of cooperative housing in London and served as the Chairman of the London Borough of Camden Council Housing Authority. In the 1980s, he was involved in Housing Cooperative Programs with the Victorian Ministry of Housing & Construction.

Steve is recognised as one of Australia's leading experts on housing affordability. He is a registered builder and holds a Diploma of Senior Management from Melbourne Business School. He serves on the board of the Community Housing Industry Association, which is Australia's peak body for community housing. He actively contributes to policy advocacy, influencing government housing policies and initiatives.

Under Steve’s leadership, CHL has grown from a small organisation with a single employee in one state of Australia to conducting business operations in South Asia, South-East Asia, South America, and Africa. In Australia, the company's property portfolio has significantly expanded each year, currently managing over 11,000 properties across six Australian states.

Since its modest beginnings with a grant of $63,000 in 1993, the company has achieved remarkable growth. It now employs over 350 staff globally.
